New Redkite 'catch up' groups for grandparents, fathers and bereaved parents

Tuesday 30 June 2020 in News from the Cancer Centre

Recent informal 'catch ups', organised by Redkite, that enable parents to chat, connect and share their thoughts and concerns in friendly, supportive groups have been so popular that different types have been added.

Audrey Morisseau, Redkite's Family Support Coordinator for the Cancer Centre for Children, said, "The catch ups have been quite popular and for that reason our social workers have decided to create different groups including for grandparents, dads and bereaved parents."

Connect with others facing childhood cancer

The virtual groups offer a chance for you to connect with other people who are having similar experiences. They are a safe place to talk openly about your experiences, collectively identify some helpful strategies that you may find useful in your own life, chat, or even just listen.

You can participate from home or hospital and all groups have two social workers present to help facilitate discussions. If you'd prefer not to use your camera you are welcome to join in with audio.
